Oswego County Anti-Poverty Task Force

Youth and Schools Coordinators:

The Youth and Schools Team is staffed by all nine Oswego County School District Superintendents

Team Mission: Develop a unified approach to students and families who are most at risk for not graduating and support collaborative interventions proven to increase their educational success.

Prioritized Initiatives:
1. Provide full-day Pre-K in all 9 districts.
2. Establish school based health centers in more of our schools,
including dental, mental health counseling and nutrition services.
3. Break cycles of generational poverty through confidence building,
mentoring and goal-setting for students -- The 15 year plan.*

*Definition of the 15 year plan: The goal that every child who enters pre-school today is on a 15 year path to achieving their potential, being as prepared as possible for the workforce and breaking generational poverty where it previously existed.
