About the Task Force

We are a public-private-partnership of schools, non-profit organizations, businesses, government and community leaders created to to work cooperatively to reduce poverty and enhance the economic vitality of Oswego County by creating a culture of continuous study, change and improvement. To accomplish that we have divided into teams to develop action items and identify effective administrative and fiduciary partners to help us accomplish our goals.

Our Mission as set forth by the Chairman of the Oswego County Legislature, Kevin Gardner is to act as a steering committee to oversee the development and implementation of actions designed to improve health and reduce poverty in Oswego County and to report progress and recommendations to the Chairman of the Oswego County Legislature and the Superintendent of the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation.

Can we grow the economy of Oswego County by creating alliances between businesses and our educational institutions that will provide a job-ready workforce? Will these measures help us grow the middle-class? Can we create better educational outcomes for our children? These are just some of the questions we hope to answer with a resounding "yes."
